Livelyhood is a collection of six neighbourhood pubs across South London. Each has its own identity and sits at the heart of its community - the group's whole aim is to sharpen the things that make a great pub.

The challenge

A legacy stack: a clunky QR order and pay, a server-based EPOS, and a hodgepodge of other tech - poorly supported, under-used and overpriced, which is a familiar story in UK pubs. The QR ordering came bundled from the EPOS company and never got traction: the guest journey was cumbersome and the team found it unreliable enough to stop using.

What they did

Working with Mo Reshard at Pre-Shift, Livelyhood rebuilt the stack best-of-breed: the strongest platform for each job, natively integrated. Once they met Storekit it was clear that not all order and pay platforms are the same. After careful evaluation they chose Storekit as the partner to grow with, alongside Lightspeed for EPOS and MarketMan for stock.

The result

A team once burnt by sub-par tech and resigned to it now trusts the system they run on. The gardens are taking record revenue - three times the QR order and pay usage of the old platform, and the best organic uptake the group has ever seen - with £30,000 a year off the tech bill.

Great atmosphere, the venue was buzzing, and an amazingly slick QR to order from your phone to the table. - a guest's review

Upgrading your entire tech stack seems like a daunting task - but working with the Storekit team and Pre-Shift, we seamlessly upgraded our QR ordering to Storekit, EPOS to Lightspeed and stock management to MarketMan. Sales are up, and costs are down. It's a win-win all round.
